Alex Shaw was born on July 22, 1982, and lived a pretty rough life. Not long after he was born, his mom was murdered, and his father was in prison for the murder. Shaw never knew this, and it would later affect him in his life. For the time being, Shaw lived with his mother’s parents, but eventually, they couldn’t live with him, because at the age of 14, when he found out it was his father that killed his mother, he went crazy. He was violent, and destructive. His grand-parents had no choice but to kick him out.

So for some time, he lived on the streets before moving into a friend’s house. He would later get kicked out of there, as well. Even though he was a tortured soul, he still managed to do good in school, it was almost like his escape. He was even gonna get a degree in Administration, when in his last year at University, got into a fight with the Dean, assaulted him, got expelled, and spent a few months in the slammer.

He worked out a lot there, and got into great shape. When he got out, Shaw, always a big fan of wrestling, would go watch the local shows, and one day a promoter asked him if he ever wrestled. When Shaw replied no, the promoter told him that’s ok, is looks alone would draw. So from there Shaw began to work the local independents before hitting the jackpot, being signed by the eWNF, later known as the 3WA.

Shaw re-named himself The Canadian Destroyer. He even had a manager early in his 3WA career, to speak for him mostly. It was a shock to the people who hadn’t seen Alex since he was a child, because he used to be so fun and talk so much, now he had someone else do the talking for him.

After a while, Alex ditched his manager, and then began to get some success in the 3WA. He picked up wins over 3WA legends like Hyde, Vicious, Kyko, Justin Lawler, and more, on his way to winning two Internet Championships.

Alex was beginning to now become very confident, but then things took a turn for the worst. In July 2006, at Death Before Dishonour, Alex won a 4 way match, with the help of a mysterious masked man. We soon realised how much that masked man would become hell for Alex.

We found out that the masked man's name was James, also known as The Thunderbird, and he was a childhood friend of Alex's. But after a bitter history between them, Alex wanted no part of James. But The Thunderbird was relentless, wanting to help Alex get back on his winning ways (he was on a terrible losing streak at this time). But still, The Destroyer wanted no part of him. They went head to head in August 2006, at Meltdown, and The Canadian Destroyer defeated The Thunderbird.

A month later, they would meet again at Rage In A Cage, in a match where the stipulation was, if Canadian Destroyer lost, he would have to leave the 3WA. Unfortunately for CD, he lost that match. As much as he was hated, he would be missed. As one of the foundation of the 3WA was gone...

Or not! Indeed Canadian Destroyer was gone, but not Alex Shaw. Just two months later, Alex came into an agreement with 3WA management to return to action. On November 26, 2006, at Blood Feud, everyone witnessed the debut of... "Showtime" Alex Shaw.

After a lot of soul searching, gone were the days of the sad Canadian Destroyer. Alex realised by being an asshole recluse, he would end up like his father, so instead he became himself, a loud and obnoxious asshole! Now was the time for the real Alex Shaw to show his colours. In a name that could only suit him, he became "Showtime" Alex Shaw, and that may be good for him, but bad for us, because he hasn't shut up since that day of November 26, 2006.

Showtime considers himself to be the best 3WA wrestler to never hold the big one, the World Heavyweight Championship. He may say it a lot, but when you get down to it, he may speak the truth. Just about to finish his rookie year in the 3WA, he can't go anywhere else but up, and for about the 5 Showtime fans, and Shaw himself, that's a very, very good thing.
